Given the troubles and delays my potential employer and I will face in order for me to secure a Work Permit, I am thinking about the "family re-unification" option, which means that I have to move to Switzerland as a dependent of my wife who does not have a job contract there. I understand that my wife, as an UE citizen, is entitled to a short resident permit 3 months renewable while looking for a job. I guess I then will be granted a Permit that allows me to work Am I right?
If YES, any idea of the processing time of the Permits? Could we use the fact that I have a job and fully support our family? I would contact the nearest consulate to you for details - I found their forms very confusing and the consulate staff to be very helpful.
If your wife has a job, it's easy peasy. You visit the consulate and obtain a 1-time entrance visa. She moves here. You both apply for Auslandercards when you register your residency at the local Kreisburo kind of like village hall, for each section of a city or each little town.
